I had a very exciting morning! My mom and I had decided to go to garage sales this morning so last night I looked up sales close to us in our local paper. There was the most enticing ad for a knitter. 4,000+ skeins for sale. Nothing over $3! My jaw dropped. So, first thing this morning, I made a bee line straight to that sale. It was mesmerizing! All that wonderful yarn! There were tons of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride in so many beautiful colors. I settled on a dark teal. And then there was some lovely wool/acrylic yarn from Belgium that has such a nice softness to it - and a nice deep red color. I bought some teal linen and some chunky wool...the last to make a pi bed like Tiger's for my mom's cat. (She deserves something for watching me swoon over all that yarn for almost an hour! She is not a knitter.) And then I got several skeins of a cotton tweed by Caron. I also got several circulars to fill in a few gaps in my collection as well as a few sets of DPN's.
THEN, I found about 15 back issues of Interweave Knits! Now, I ask you....could it get any better than that? I have hours and hours of reading pleasure in that stack of magazines!
They had bought this yarn at an estate sale of a woman who had passed away. This was just her stash! It filled the garage completely. There were garbage bags full of yarn that hadn't been opened yet. They took my number so the next time they have a sale, they'll let me know! It was so wonderful.
Now, I just need to find projects for what I bought! Hmmm...where will I look???
