Yarn Harlot in OKC

What a wonderful night it was! We thoroughly enjoyed having Stephanie visit Oklahoma and reading her blog entry today made me laugh all over again. She was hilarious (as always) and kept us laughing all night. And watching her expressions and laughter as we sang Oklahoma! to her was too great. I had tears in my eyes singing...being a proud, native Oklahoman, and seeing this Canadian in a fit of giggles as the lot of us (over a hundred, thank you very much!), was a moment I won't ever forget. Now the pictures. The first is my favorite, even though it was the last. It was back at Gourmet Yarn while Stephanie was signing books...I was waiting, so I took out my sock to snap a picture with HER sock. THE sock. Of course, she had to straighten it and make it "presentable". She said my sock was nice. What did I say? "Thank you." That's it....not, "Thank you, yours is lovely too. What yarn is that?" Nope. Just, "Thank you." (Sorry Stephanie...the traveling sock really is lovely.) We talked about how poor, single socks get lonely and sad, waiting for the other sock to be finished so they can be a pair. My sock has a long wait, although now she is quite the queen of the knitting box, having had her picture taken with THE sock. (I knocked her down a peg or two, reminding her that I have knit many other projects from start to finish since casting her on. She cried. I felt bad and knit a few rounds.) Okay. Really. Here are the pics:

Glad you had a good time :)

I hope to see Stephanie when she comes to Salt Lake in September.

She said you all sang 'Oklahoma' to her. Were you there for that?

Very cool! Good idea to get your sock with THE sock!
