After finishing Lace Leaf (which has gotten a little use, by the way - see below), I decided to cast on for a few other projects! I've got a new pair of socks going and a summery tank.
The socks are Marian - an exclusive Socktopia pattern. The pattern has a few cables but is a very mellow knit. There's a twenty row repeat and you cross a cable just two times in the twenty rows! The rest are just knit and purl stitch combos. I think I deserved a mellow sock after all that work on Pomotamus. I really want to try Eunny's Bayerische socks...but goodness, I wasn't up to tackling that yet! Here's my progress so far on Marian:
I bought the yarn for the tank in the dead of winter. I knew I had enough wool yarn for sweaters so I decided to get something for a spring project. I chose Jaeger Trinity which is a silk/cotton/polymide blend. It's a kind of slubby yarn that has no stretch at all - it has that silk crunch to it. I'm finding that my hands ache after a short time knitting, but so far I really like the way it looks!
It's the Thorn & Thistle twin set of which I'm going to just knit the tank shown in the picture above. I don't much like the cardigan that goes with it. Isn't the picot edging at the neckline cute? But you see all that dead space in between the interesting lace bottom and the picot edging? It's a beaded rib....K4P1 on the right side...purl across on the wrong. I hope I can get through it without a lot of procrastination, because I love this top!
