I know. Uninspired title. And it's not like any of you would need me to tell you these are Jaywalkers. I'm what...the 3,432,501th person to knit these? But we are moving this week so creative blog titles aren't high on my radar! Anyway...here they are. Finished last night! (Hey...they are my June Socktopia socks...I had to finish them before Sunday! Move or no move.)
Pattern: Jaywalkers by Grumperina. (of course)
Yarn: Tofutsies by SWTC, Color #724 - 50% superwash wool, 25%soysilk, 22.5% cotton, and 2.5% chitin (the stuff from shrimp and crab shells)
Needles: Knitpicks size 1 DPNs
Cast On: June 3, 2007
Grafted the second sock: June 27, 2007
Details and thoughts: I really like this yarn! It's smooth and soft, but different from 100% wool. I like how it feels cool on my feet. It was easy to knit with, but a tad splitty. Nothing horrible though! The colors pooled slightly on the leg, but it isn't too bad. On the foot, where there are fewer stitches, it's a nice mottled look. The colors seem a bit muted..not quite what I expected but I still like it. The only change I made to the pattern (why mess with a good thing?) is to do a twisted K1P1 ribbing.
