I got a few knitterly things for Christmas this year! First, I received from my mom 2 (TWO) hanks of Blue Heron's Rayon Metallic. If you aren't familiar with this yarn, it has incredible drape (being rayon) and is sparkly. It's a yarn that I've admired at my LYS for several years, but it's pricey so I knew I'd never purchase it for myself. What am I going to make? What else! A Clapotis, of course.
Mom also gave me this cute bookmark with a spinning wheel charm. (Not that I spin, but it's fiber related, so I'll take it.)
Then both my husband and stepdaughter bought me Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's new Page-A-Day Calendar. (They know what I like, I guess!) Since I only need one, does anyone want to trade for yarn?
I'm busy working on my Selbu Modern. See?
Hopefully, those parts that look puckered are just because the hat is squished onto the needles. Or maybe it'll block out later. (I'm kinda scared to block it...can't you just see that deep blue bleeding into the white? What a nightmare!)
I did finish a pair of socks, but I don't have a modeled shot yet. However, because I finished them, I asked my husband to choose from one of my Personal Sock Club baggies. (see last post) He got into the spirit of the thing by turning around three times and choosing a bag blindly. It was cute! I was ridiculously excited to open it. This is what I found:
Which is now turning into this:
Knotty or Knice socks by Chrissy Gardiner from the Fall 2008 IK.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year! Mike and I will be getting our traditional Chinese take-out and enjoying the festivities on the tube.
