I came up with a name!
Oddments is another name for all of those leftovers, remnants, remainders, etc. So this pair of socks is now called Oddments!
Pattern: Oddments – my own, available soon
Yarn: Leftovers from 6 other pairs of socks
Needles: US 1/ 2.25mm dpns
Cast on: December 1, 2011 (SKA challenge for December to use leftovers)
Finished: December 28, 2011
Interesting info: Because I used so many yarns, I wasn’t able to carry them along, but instead cut each yarn after using it. That left me with a TON of ends to weave in. It took fortitude, but I finished them!
In the last post, this picture showed the yarns I planned to use:
And now, after knitting the pair, the same yarns in the same order:
How is it that the two yarns in the middle look like I didn’t touch them? I promise they are included!
Close up of the stitch pattern – a fun-to-do wrapped stitch:
It blends the different yarns together nicely. This would probably be a useful way to knit with handpainted yarns as well as a multitude of leftovers. I am having the pattern test knit right now and it will be available for free soon! (Free because other than the wrapped stitch row, there isn’t much pattern to it!)
I received some Christmas yarn, but I’ll save that for another post.
Tiger says, “The anticipation is killing me…”
That's a perfect name for the pattern, and the wrapped stitch makes a nice transition.

What a beautiful sock! I love a happy, stripy leftover sock. My feet are small, so there are always tons of leftovers.
