I released my latest pattern today to begin the new year! I remember doing the same thing last year too.
Silky Way Cowl uses Malabrigo Silky Merino, a wonderful DK weight yarn with fabulous colors and terrific sheen, thanks to the silk! The short version, shown above, was knit with 1 skein of Archangel. The longer version shown below, uses 1.5 skeins or about 225 yards. (The version below is also in Archangel…just a different dye batch.)
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions. My testers had the idea of knitting the cowl deeper, creating a zigzag instead of an arrow. To do this, work the chart 1 1/2 times instead of just once.
From now until January 7th, use the coupon code “newyear” on Ravelry to get the pattern for half price! That’s $2.00 instead of $4.00.
I’ve now made 4 of these. The original short version and three longer versions for Christmas presents! The long version above is for my sister-in-law.
I used Silky Merino in Piedras for my mom’s cowl:
For a non-silky version, I used Knit Witch’s Ancient World Mythology in Athena. This is for my stepdaughter:
Tiger says, “I can’t stand the excitement of a new pattern! Time for a nap.”

What a prety pattern! And I love Tiger... missed seeing his pictures (my fault, not yours).
Happy New Year! :)
