No, I don’t mean the chocolate candies with the M’s on them! I’m talking about those two famous yarn brands – Malabrigo and Madeline Tosh. In my view, and that of many others, they are two of the best yarn lines available. The colors and yarns and amazing! I have been hoarding collecting both yarns for quite some time and while I don’t have a large stash of either, I was curious of which I had more. So I counted them!
This doesn’t include any yarns involved in current projects. The top row is Malabrigo and wins handily at 13 skeins. I have 9 skeins of Madeline Tosh yarns.
Malabrigo from left to right:
1 skein of Silky Merino in Plum Blossom
1 skein of Silky Merino in Ankara Green
4 skeins of Arroyo in Reflecting Pool
1 skein of Worsted in Purple Magic (I’ve had this yarn the longest)
1 skein of Worsted in Nostalgia
1 skein of Sock in Candombe
1 skein of Sock in Ravelry Red
1 skein of Sock in Primavera
1 skein of Lace in Jacinto
1 wound skein of Lace in Cadmium
Madeline Tosh from left to right:
1 skein of 80/10/10 Fingering in Filigree
1 skein of DK in Venetian
1 skein of Twist DK in Whimsical
3 skeins of DK in Ophelia
1 skein of Merino Light in Firewood
1 skein of Merino Light in Tart
1 skein of Merino Light in a OOAK (I can never remember what color it most resembles)
Now, I know many who would consider this a poor start, but it’s a bunch to me! I love my M&M stash. I started to wonder how many FO’s I had in both yarns so I dug through my FO basket and found these few examples:
I found 3 Tosh FO’s and 2 Malabrigo FO’s. The three Tosh on the left are a vest of my own design using DK in Celadon, Summer Flies using Merino Light in Byzantine, and a Susanna IC shawl (can’t remember which one) using Merino Light in Kelp. The two Malabrigo FO’s are Popped socks using Sock in Impressionist Sky and my own Silky Way cowl using Silky Merino in Archangel. I’ve given away 3 Malabrigo FO’s though so I’ve used Malabrigo more.
Later this week, I’ll show you the two WIP’s I have using M&M yarn.
