Our sweet cat, Tiger, died this last week and we are heartbroken. We took him to the vet a few weeks ago because he wasn’t eating as well and the vet found a large mass in his abdomen. Since Tiger was 15 years old, there was really nothing we could do except try steroids to slow it down and make him feel better. It didn’t do either and Tiger declined rapidly. It was a heart wrenching decision, but we called a mobile vet to come to the house to put him to sleep. You see, Tiger hated riding in the car and going to the vet. We didn’t want his last moments to be somewhere he hated. The mobile vet was so kind and compassionate which made it a little easier. But we miss our sweet kitty. He showed up on our porch 11 years ago and decided we were his new family. It took a few weeks, but we finally agreed and let him into our lives. He was a great cat and we have so many wonderful memories with him. And probably a thousand pictures – many of which made it onto my blog. It will be weird not ending with a “Tiger says” picture anymore so I wanted to share a few favorites:
